Women, The Menopause and Work

Working with women in particular is another great passion of mine

“Women have the capacity to lead us to a more peaceful world with compassion, affection and kindness.”

Dalai Lama

An advocate for the mature women in the workplace I work closely with organisations helping them support women going through the menopause.

We are the first generation of women still working in full time jobs and senior roles with huge demands and great responsibility, yet still expected to ‘crack on’ as normal, while going through the menopause. Unfortunately there is still a stigma attached to discussing the menopause at work as women do not feel comfortable to share their feelings and emotions in order to get the right level of support.

Menopausal women may also experience difficulty when dealing with their symptoms and work can compound these issues, especially if there is little to no support.

Organisations ought to have a social corporate responsibility in supporting these women via educating and providing information to all concerned, be it line managers or the women themselves with support groups in place, providing an environment of trust where it can be discussed freely.

If you would like to know more about how I can support you or your organisation please contact me.

Women and Work

Women of all ages tend to struggle with their self worth at various stages in their life, especially if they work in male dominated industries where they can feel inadequate in comparison to their male counterparts. I offer individual coaching or mentoring to help to overcome these feelings, build self belief and restore confidence in ability.
